PPS HISTORY
Established in 1998, Paniolo Preservation Society (PPS)
works to increase public awareness of the historical, present-day and
future significance of Hawaii’s ranching industry, with emphasis
on the roles and traditions of the paniolo. A long-range goal of PPS
is to establish a Ranching and Paniolo Cultural Center that will house
artifacts and natural history representing the paniolo heritage, as well
an archival center for historical documents, maps and photos. Read

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
2008 is proving to be a happening year! The "Real Beef by Real Cowboys",
"Old Hawaii on Horseback",
Horse Races and a Hawaiian cowboy-style concert, just to name a few. See
the complete events list.
The long term mission is:
To build and maintain a Regional Ranching and Paniolo Cultural
Center with a focus on the Hawaiian ranching industry and the paniolo (cowboys)
that made the industry possible. The
Great Waiomina Centennial Celebration, a public awareness program of the
Paniolo Preservation Society, beginning in 2007, offers
statewide events throughout 2008. These events will publicize our long-term
goal of developing a Regional Ranching and Paniolo Cultural Center
with an Internet-accessible library of historical archives and thousands
of maps and photographs.
